Self-Transformation

This is a curated collection of self-portraits, with the central visual theme of physical bodily transformation, and exploring unexpected and varied forms with a sense of wonder and euphoria.

I used to approach the 'TF' art genre with a sense of great unease - being raised in a very sheltered, religious environment, I was instinctively avoidant of anything remotely deviant or strange. It was a subject which evoked a very potent sense of euphoria, and I, wholly unfamiliar with this feeling, would try to quell it for fear of going astray.

Transformation art can represent a lot of things for many different folks - for some, there's a sensual, paraphilic attractiveness to it. Others find more abstract and metaphorical appeal, and many more see it as a way to affirm themselves in a myriad of different ways, from idealizations to gender to species, and everything in between there!

These portraits are a sensory exploration of an imagined process - what does it feel like to be changed in such a literal way? What's the furthest away and weirdest thing I can get from the human body, and what does the journey in between entail?
